Unveiling the top go-to-market challenges for European deep-tech scaleups

A new study by the European Innovation Council's Scaling Club conducted by IESE’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center, reveals that the European deep-tech scale-ups analyzed foresee that their go-to-market strategy’s top challenge over the next 12 months will be securing and engaging customers. Other key challenges include sales, business expansion, market positioning, and operational efficiency. The study offers data-driven insights and actionable recommendations to help deep-tech scaleups overcome obstacles and optimize their strategies. Titled “European Deep-Tech Scaleups: Go-To-Market Strategy”, this study is the first in a series of 10 analyzing challenges deep-tech ventures face during their growth journey – from commercializing their innovation and growing the business to attracting investment and contributing to the ecosystem. IESE hosts first EU-LAC Open Innovation Bootcamp with L'Oréal Research & Innovation

IESE hosted the inaugural Open Innovation Bootcamp with L'Oréal R&I as part of the EU-LAC Digital Accelerator project, funded by the European Commission. This one-day event for corporate and innovation executives included peer learning and presentations. Participants also networked, exchanged experiences, and explored innovative approaches across regions. Guided by experts, attendees gained skills for collaborating with startups through corporate venturing, fostering open innovation, and strategic growth. Find out about the new EU-LAC Digital Accelerator call for new partnerships.

IESE to host Ignite Bootcamp for Europe’s top engineering students

IESE Business School will host the Ignite Bootcamp from July 26-31 in Barcelona, welcoming engineering students from top European universities. These students, who excelled in the EuroTeQaThon competition in Paris, will focus on transforming their innovative ideas into market-ready solutions, guided by IESE Entrepreneurship professors. Teams from 7 European engineering universities will engage in intensive workshops, mentoring sessions, and networking opportunities aimed at tackling technology-driven sustainability challenges. This initiative is part of the EuroTeQ alliance, enhancing collaboration between elite engineering institutions and leading business schools.

IESE's Business Angels Network wraps up their 20th year of activity 

Founded in 2003, IESE's Business Angels Network celebrated its 20th anniversary during this academic year. The Network has appointed Professor Jan Simon and Jose Maria Casas a as the new Academic Co-Directors. Throughout last year, the network received over 330 projects, and channeled €1.7 million from investors to 20 entrepreneurial projects. Over the past 20 years, the network has founded 420+ startups, invested €56+ million, hosted 196+ forums, and supported 340+ investors.
