New ethical challenges are constantly emerging in corporations, from how to allocate medical attention during a pandemic to what algorithm to create for self-driving cars. Ethics is at the core of business activity and decision-making. Even accreditation agencies like AACSB and Equis have revised their standards for business educational institutions to embrace the importance of including ethics education across business disciplines.
Business ethics is the study of the standards for morally right or wrong behavior in business. It provides positive guidelines for seeking human excellence in corporate life and for promoting good practices in organizations, management and corporate governance.
The benefits of ethical organizations are well documented and it has been proven beyond doubt that they create more value for society. However, creating and nurturing an ethical culture in organizations requires designing a system that makes it as easy as possible to engage in good practices.
